The Essence of Japan Near Narita
Just a short distance from Narita Airport, the Hokuso region — including Sakura, Narita, Sawara, and Choshi — preserves the nostalgic charm of Edo-period Japan and its timeless countryside.
Whether on your arrival or departure day, you can explore temples, samurai residences, and traditional townscapes, experiencing the essence of “authentic Japan” in a short time.
Close to both Narita and Tokyo, Hokuso offers an ideal gateway to immerse yourself in Japan’s cultural depth and quiet beauty.
Authentic Japanese Pottery Masterclass in Sakura
Discover Japan’s rich history and traditions in a single-day program.
Spend a full day experiencing pottery making in a historic Japanese house. With step-by-step guidance from an expert instructor, you will hand-build your own pieces such as teacups or bowls. Lunch is at your own expense, purchased locally and enjoyed at the pottery studio. In the afternoon, you will also have time to deepen your knowledge of Japanese pottery before returning to your work to refine it through trimming and decorative touches. Unlike short workshops, this program offers an immersive and authentic journey into the art of Japanese ceramics. An English-speaking guide will accompany you. Meeting and dismissal at JR Sakura Station. Available only on select days. Finished pieces will be fired and delivered to your home after completion.
